Employee Requests

All requests (1121 employees) will take a mix of on-demand and existing public transit from their homes to the nearest transit hub in their respective counties. We assume that employees that live within 1 mile from the nearest public transit bus stop will opt to take the bus. This reduces the number of requests to serve for on-demand vehicles from 1121 to 523. For Memphis and Jackson, employees will use MATA and JTA respectively, to get to the nearest transit hub. From the transit hubs, employees will take a fixed-line express bus to BlueOval City. We further reduce the number of on-demand buses and fixed-line express buses compared to Scenario 2 (64 to 44) and (26 to 22) respectively. Each on-demand bus will have 10 seats and will start their trip at 5:00 AM. Meanwhile, each express bus seats 50 and will start their trip at 7:00 AM. Each county will have a different number of on-demand and express bus that is proportional to their number of employee requests. Employees need to be at BlueOval City by 8:00 AM.
