Student Spotlight:
Taylor Webb
Taylor Webb is a senior in the Department of Civil Engineering, and will graduate in May 2006. Taylor has been very active in the department since beginning his engineering curriculum, volunteering to conduct E-Day presentations, serving as a grader and lab instructor for multiple courses, and volunteering to teach during the Boy Scout Merit Badge Day hosted by the department. He was the recipient of the Early Scholars, Joe Rutherford Memorial, and Road Builders Scholarships. He was also selected to receive the Outstanding Achievement in Group Design Award for his work in CIVL 1101. He has served as Vice-President of the student chapter of ASCE for the past two years, and is the liaison for the steel bridge competition for this spring’s Deep South ASCE conference to be hosted by the University of Memphis.
Taylor worked for Kajima Construction Company as an assistant project manager from June 2003 to August 2004. His work experience also includes involvement in the Memphis Stormwater Utility Project, under the direction of Drs. Ivey and Abernathy. Taylor is a registered Engineering Intern in the State of Tennessee. He plans to attend graduate school at The University of Memphis following graduation this spring, and to pursue a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering.
Congratulations to Titilola Adeleye on her recent election to the presidency of the African Student's association. Titilola is originally from Nigeria.

And congratulations to Jim Bragdon and Taylor Webb on their outstanding performances on the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam last fall. Taylor scored an
91 while Jim scored a remarkable 94. Great job folks.
