Said Abujaber (BSCE 1973, MSCE 1975)
began his career by working as an engineer during his Master's degree study
with Bunge Corporation- West Memphis and Barrow Agee Company in Memphis. He
later moved back to Amman- Jordan, and worked with Bechtel International
located in Amman, for one year. In 1977 he decided to establish his own
engineering consulting company with one of his colleges, named (Ruqn Al
Handasa Company). It started with three engineers and one discipline
(Building). By 1993, the company had grown to 150 employees and
multi-discipline work. For the purpose of expanding and establishing
business outside of Jordan, Said sold his shares in Ruqn Al Handasa in 1993
and established a new company called Consolidated Consultants, for which he
has been the CEO since its establishment. The company has expanded its
presence in the Middle East, Africa and CIS countries, and employs more than
500 employees. Consolidated Consultants has been awarded many local and
international prizes for outstanding performance. Other than engineering,
Said was also interested in tourism where I established in 1989, with some
colleges, a company called ' Jordan Tourism Investment'. This company
specializes in Cultural and Eco Tourism. This company owns and runs 2
tourist villages and 2 resorts all with old buildings that have been
transformed to be used as tourist attractions by maintaining their cultural
value. Since establishment, he has been a member of the board of directors
and he is happy to report that Jordan Tourism Investment has also been
awarded local and international prizes for the innovative ideas promoted by
this company.
Emily Boswell (BSCE 2008)
is a Staff Engineer for the City of Lakeland.
Emma R. Campbell (BSCE 2007)
is a Civil Designer at the Jackson, TN branch of Askew Hargraves Harcourt
and Associates, Inc.
Jeff Doudrick (BSCE 2003)
and his wife Janell are the proud parents of a baby boy, Ryker Spence, who
was born on November 15, 2007. At birth he was 7lb. 5oz., and 20 inches
long. Jeff is a Water Resources Engineer with HNTB Corporation in Kansas,
Missouri. He passed the PE exam in October 2007. One of is current projects
is for a bridge along the proposed I-269, and is located north of Byhalia,
MS on the Coldwater River. He is also pursuing a Master's degree in civil
engineering at UMKC.

Shane Hollin (BSCE 1996)
is a Civil Project Designer for Askew Hargraves Harcourt & Associates, Inc.
He works out of the Jackson, TN office.
Donald T. Fletcher (BSCE 1997)
obtained PE licensure in 2002, and is currently a Project Manager for Bronze
Construction. His oversees projects involving site work, underground
utilities, concrete and asphalt paving. Don and his wife Karen have been
married for 13 years and have 2 daughters; Rebecca Grace 11 and Hailey Faith
7. Karen works at Fayette Academy where the girls go to school. The Fletcher
family lives in Moscow TN and they are members of the First United Methodist
Church of Somerville, where Don teaches the Senior High Sunday School class,
is a member of the administrative board, and is chairman of scholarship
committee. During the summer Don coaches both the 9-11 and 7-9 year old
softball teams in the Collierville Athletic Association. Don is also a
Silver Distributor with Menage Innovations.

Manolo Soto-Fournier (BSCE 2003)
has been accepted to medical school, and will attend the University of
Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine beginning in August
2008. He will be a part of the Class of 2012.
Drew Long (BSCE 2008)
has accepted a position as Assistant Civil Engineer with Seattle City Light,
the municipal utility in Seattle, Washington. He'll be working in the Dam
Safety Program, working collaboratively with hydroelectric plant management
and staff to help ensure dam safety and regulatory compliance.
Chris Marshall (BSCE
1996) and wife Lan
proudly announce the birth of their first child, daughter Angelina Thuy Tien
Marshall. Angelina was born July 10, 2008, and weighed 7 lbs 5.5 oz and was
20.5 inches long.

John Perry (BSCE 1977)
successfully completed
the Disney marathon in January.
Jennifer Rodriguez (formerly Jennifer Redden) (BSCE
1994, MSCE 1996) married Dan Rodriguez at the 19th Century Club on
Union, May 24th 2008. They honeymooned in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Professor David A. Sabatini (MSCE xxxx)
has been named a co-Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Contaminant
Hydrology (JCH). JCH is an international journal publishing scientific
articles on the physical, chemical and biological processes influencing the
behavior of organic and inorganic contaminants in the subsurface. Sabatini
served as Associate Editor for ten years prior to his appointment as a
co-Editor-in-Chief.
Sabatini has also been selected to receive the 2008 Outstanding Educator
Award from the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science
Professors. The award is given annually to “recognize and honor the
development of innovative teaching methods, including the application of
these methods in the classroom and the dissemination of methods to the
academic community.” The award is sponsored by John-Wiley & Sons, Inc.
Sabatini is a David Ross Boyd Professor and holds the
Sun Oil Company Endowed Chair in Civil Engineering and Environmental Science
at the University of Oklahoma (OU). He is also the Director of Water
Technologies for Emerging Regions (WaTER) Center and Associate Director of
the Institute for Applied Surfactant Research at OU. He received his BSCE
from U. Illinois, MSCE from U. Memphis and PhD from Iowa State U.
Sabatini currently serves on the environmental advisory
board for subsurface remediation for DuPont Chemical Company and the Science
Advisory Board of the Superfund Research Center at the University of
Arizona. In AY 1997/98 he was a Senior Fulbright Scholar at the Universitaet
Tuebingen in Tuebingen, Germany. His research interests include; transport,
fate and treatment of emerging contaminants; surfactant-based microemulsions
for environmental, consumer and energy products; and sustainable water
treatment technologies for remote villages in developing countries.
Troy Smith (BSCE 1986) is the Senior Database
Analyst for Source, Inc., an industry leading telecom solution provider in
Dallas, TX. Troy is a Microsoft Certified Professional in SQL Server
responsible for database architecture and development. Troy completed the US
Army Officer Candidate School and served as an Engineering Officer after
graduation from the Herff College of Engineering. He has been developing
software and internet-based applications for the past 12 years.
Vince Thillen (BSCE 1977) is a Principal with ETI corporation, an
engineering, planning, and landscape architecture firm.
Chris Triplett (BSCE 1999) has joined Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon,
Inc. (BWSC), as a Project Engineer in the firm's Memphis office. He directs
and designs civil and environmental engineering projects such as industrial,
commercial, and residential site development; and projects involving public
utilities, storm water and sediment controls, landfill closures and covers,
and environmental remediation and restoration. Chris has 18 years of
experience in commercial, industrial and residential site development, and
site remediation with a specialization in soil remediation and solid waste.
He was previously employed with EnSafe, Inc., as a Project Manager/Engineer.
Chris is a Professional Engineer in Tennessee and Oklahoma, and a Certified
Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control. He is also a member of the
American Society of Civil Engineers, holding several current and past
leadership roles, and the Society of Military Engineers.
Matt (BSCE 2001, MBA 2005) and Stacy Turner (BSCE
2001) proudly announce the birth of their newest son Luke Christian
Turner. Luke was
born on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs. - 3 oz.
and measured 21 in. long. They now have three sons, Grady, Will and
Luke.

G. Taylor Webb (BSCE 2006) currently works for Davis Engineering Co.
He and wife Agnes welcomed their first child, Andrew Taylor Webb on March 8.
Andrew was born weighing 7 lbs, 7 oz.

Cory H. Williams (BSCE 1996, MSCE 2001) is
currently Chief, Geotechnical Engineering Branch with the Memphis District
Corps of Engineers. Cory and his wife Joy have been married for 12 years and
have three children; Ben (8) and Jake (4) and Ally (1). The Williams family
lives in Germantown, TN and they are members of Sycamore View Church of
Christ.
