Consider the torsional vibration of a uniform bar shown below and develop a solution to one-dimensional eigenvalue problems using a quadratic interpolation function.

Use the resulting formulation to solution for the problem using:

1. one quadratic element with equally spaced nodes,
2. two equal length quadratic elements with equally spaced nodes, and
3. compare the quadratic solution with those using linear interpolation functions.
